Introducing myself and my journal: Directed Ramblings
I am currently working through a graduate program focused on Security and Development issues. My thesis project concerns the ongoing Canadian military role in Afghanistan and the corresponding experiences of Afghani women. I have been a supporter of the World Pulse movement from its beginning but have never felt like I had a "reason" to join this site... am now really wanting to open up my research to incorporate a more balanced and wide-ranging opinion base. While I greatly respect the profs involved in my education, they are all male and I need to get more of a female voice! I am toying with ideas of first-hand interviewing and observation as I want to examine the various roles women play in Afghani culture and how those roles have changed and the issues they face. Any thoughts or guidance would be most appreciated!
