I am glad to make your acquaintance

Dear Jensine, Ila, and Lisa,

I am glad to make your acquaintance. I think you are doing a very important job. My job is quite similar, only that I work with other constituencies. In my work I collaborate closely with local government officials as well as members of community-based organizations, building up their capabilities. We also doing a lot of trainings. Furthermore, we focus on urban community participation, capacity building and community leadership skills.

In China this is a rather new development trend, so we still need to learn a lot from experiences around the world. It may interest you that I have been in the USA several times. I think that American non-for-profit organizations are very well organized and can be good models for Chinese civil society.

Hello Qinghua!

Hello Qinghua!

I'm very excited to hear your voice on PulseWire! It sounds like you are involved with some important new development projects! I would love to know more about Shining Stone Community Action, what projects you are currently focused on, what your hope is for women in China (what a big question, hunh?), and how you see your projects affecting women especially by using practices like the Open Space Method. What kinds of tools and practices are you using to build community participation? What an undertaking! Maybe you could provide a link to your organization on your profile?

Again, welcome Qinghua!

Welcome to PulseWire!

Dear Qinghua -
Wonderful to meet you. It is a great honor to have your voice and your leadership in our community. Your ideas for participatory development will surely lead the way in China, and the world. I am sure that there are many in U.S. who would love to be involved in your work & help support in various ways. If you think of any specific requests you have you should post it on our Resource Exchange bulletin board. Requests might be for volunteers, advice, skills, tools, organizational leadership training, for example. The sky is the limit!

Thank you for all that you do.

PS - I love your photo!

A deep bow,
Jensine Larsen
