About Me:
A nurse by profession with background of education, I am currently the Executive Director of Women Acting Together for Change (WATCH), one of Nepal’s most outstanding NGOs. WATCH was established in the early 1990s to empower the poorest of the poor, and to assist women in distress and with discrimination in their efforts to help themselves. As being associated with an eminent and value based women's organization my leadership can be a pivotal not only in WATCH but also in collaborating organizations and stakeholders. WATCH has promoted various federations like Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN), National Federation of Water Users' association in Nepal (NFIWUAN), Environment and Community Forestry Advocacy Group, Community Forestry Supporters' Network (COFSUN), Nepal Participatory Action Network (NEPAN), Aware Women's Organization (sex workers' organization), Women with Iron Fists (rural women's network), Sneha Samaj and Asha Jyoti (PLWHA organizations), 100s of women's NGOs and rural NGOs and networks and federations. WATCH has been promoting and building capacities of 20-25 rural and women's NGOs every year. As a Humphrey Fellow, I had an opportunity to sharpen my vision regarding HIV/AIDS.

WATCH being promoter and supporter of grassroots organizations and networks require knowledge and skills proposed by this training. That's why I am very much interested to take part in the training. I am sure I will also be able to contribute to the training with my hands-on experiences with grassroots level women and networks. I will adapt whatever I have learned in the training to our context specially to develop leadership capacities of the rural women, disadvantaged women and indigenous people, voiceless poor, sex workers, HIV+s, etc. Besides, Nepal is still reeling under need for peace and stability. There is a possibility that some negotiation will be reached between political parties for peace but still healing process has to be undertaken. WATCH is quite ready to do so especially in collaboration and cooperation with its networks and federations which have access to all the districts and areas of Nepal.

Reach those who are not reached and prepare them for their rights

Convcincing my learbed colleagues that there is another world who are suffering from our selfishness and greediness

My Vision for the Future:
A safe world with peace, prosperity and possibilities
