Getting Started on PulseWire

Dear Applicants,

Many of you are new to PulseWire and the global World Pulse community. We want you to have the tools you need to feel confident and to successfully complete the application starting in September. To help you become familiar with PulseWire, I am attaching the PulseWire Getting Started Guide. I highly suggest you read this document before digging into the materials in September--it will make your journey much easier.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them!

Kind regards,

Rachael

Dear Felistah,

Welcome to our community! Are you also new to PulseWire? Either way, we are glad to have you here. You have not missed anything! You can see on the group profile, all the posts (located to the right) that have gone on so far--just a few welcome notes, helpful hints and the PulseWire getting started guide. Please feel free to post any questions that you might have in this group (you can start a new post if you want to!). If you can go to the first Welcome message and fill out the short survey, that would be great!

Kind regards,
Rachael

Thanks

Dear Rachael,

Greetings from Bolivia (although last years I was almost all time abroad, supporting several projects in Latin America and now -curiously- I´m feeling like a foreigner in my own country).

I have high expectations about the experience in this space. In 2000 I wrote an essay and I won the National Award in an Andean Competition aimed to reflect the situation and status of women in Latin America at the start of the new millennium. I really didn´t write for that (it appeared in the Competition by casualty). It was actually a life testimony where I played very sensitive issues for me, since not only I got divorced at that time, but also I acquired awareness with the need to grow in all aspects of my life. So I focused on that the last 10 years. Now I'm here, going ahead with my three wonderful daughters and I reached very important professional achievements but still struggling to overcome major challenges.

I have just joined 2010 Voices of Our Future. I didn´t know before the activities, projects and the scope of your interesting initiative, and maybe in the beginning I will be lost, but I´m sure that gradually I will achieve to be inside (the guide you provided will be so useful to do that, I´m sure).

Best regards,

María Rosa

Dear Maria Rosa,

I am very glad to hear that you are participating! It sounds like you have had a very eye-opening and growth-filled 10 years. It would be very interesting to read your essay from 10 years ago. Please feel free to post it in your journal if you are interested in sharing it with the group. I will soon be announcing some more details about the training which will give you a better idea of what we will be working on together.

Kind regards,
Rachael

Hi Jado, I am not entirely

Hi Jado,

I am not entirely sure which section you need, but I think you are asking how to fill out your profile? Once you have created your account, you can click on the "Edit Account" tab at the top ( you will see this when you log in to your account). Then, you will see another tab below this main tab, that says "Edit Profile". That will allow you to edit the "about me" sections, amongst others. Please let me know if this helps!

Kind regards,

Rachael

Thank you for this document -

Thank you for this document - I have it next to me every time I come on the site to make sure I am not missing anything!

'Harlem: A Dream Deferred' - Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
Like a syrupy sweet?
