Hi Christopher!

To echo Fatima and Sarvina, welcome to PulseWire!

There are only a few of us men here on PulseWire so far, but we hope to see our community of male allies in the movement for women's empowerment grow. Your involvement in the youth movement seems "profound" indeed! What is it like to be a Youth member of Parliament? I think you're well on your way to being a GCM--I love that title too!

I encourage you to join the group "Through His Eyes" (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups/7474). This is a space for men to safely and freely share their thoughts and experiences on how to support women. Use this group, and your own personal journal to tell us more about yourself, or jump-start a conversation! I would love to know what you're doing, or want to do, to bring a better world into reality for our sisters and ourselves.

I also noticed that you've joined the Voices of Our Future applicants group. Please review the criteria for the online training program, on this page: http://worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups/21780.

I look forward to hearing more from you soon.

Best wishes,
Scott

Thanks for the Welcome

To start I would say that it is wonderful to see men involved in positivity and also making an impact in society. Being a Youth Member of Parliament I work along with the Member of Parliament for the constituency/area where he is assigned. Working on the youth aspects of the constituency, being a youth voice so that the youth has a say.

I was selected to attend a Latin America and Caribbean Youth Summit 2010 in Brazil, from the 1-8th August. I was chosen 1 of 60 people in the world to attend.
It was held by the Global Changemakers http://www.global-changemakers.net
There we focused on youth issues that plague our different communities, regional and internationally. I have gained a wealth of knowledge there, and I have come back to share the wealth to the youth of Trinidad and Tobago. Letting them know about opportunities it has out there and also training them to have skills in Social Entrepreneurship, being an Community workers and Voluntary activist to be eligible as well to attend one of these summits.
Therefore I am in the process of creating and organization Global Changemakers Trinidad and Tobago which will foucus on issuse as Poverty, Social Inequity, Access to Education and Crime.
I am also working hand in hand with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs to help the youth of my nation.
Check out my blog for updates about my experience at the summit and also about events that are currently occuring in Trinidad and the rest of the world
