Our Narrative

This has been a really interesting year for me. Through a turn of events and several influential friendships, I have come to a deepened understanding of the language that spins in our heads and comes out of our mouths, threading through our lives, and creating what is the essential pattern in the narrative that is our life.
We create and life is in fact a story: our story. While we don't have complete power over what happens to us or what challenges we are born into, we can create the story around our experiences that drives us forward. Admittedly, an acute awareness of this power and how it creates who we are and how we manifest has at times, held me back from sharing. Along with that awareness comes a newfound relationship with the power of word--a power that stems from its ability to create.
One of my favorite quotes is by Stan Lee, creator of (of all things!) Spider-Man: With great power there must also come — great responsibility. While it is wise to be careful about what we create in word, it is important to take risks and to listen to that voice that calls from within--our will!

Thank you for this - for reminding me to look more deeply into the events that unfold around me and more consciously weave my experiences into the story - and what's more - to share that story with the world.
I too love this quote by Stan Lee as I think it can be translated into many scenarios. Words to live by, rule by and abide by. I hope that you will share more of your story with us, as I sense you have a knack for telling them.
