About 12 weeks ago, I lost my sister. She had suffered her 3rd cardiovascular attack due to hypertension.
My beloved sister chose denial over taking her medicine. How do we inspire ourselves and others to protect ourselves from ourselves?
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a sister is like losing a part of your heart. May you heal. Addressing your question, I feel that when someone is truly sick you have to just be there for her. It might hurt that she didn't want to take the medications but that was her decision, and if she was in her proper mental state, all anyone could of done is respect that. Though, I don't know what I would have done if my sister was in that position. I believe you did your best and that you truly made the rest of her life a one full of love and hope
Thanks Carrie. You're right! I was there for her to the very end. I believe that she is at peace now. Being a witness to her daily decline wasn't easy, but she had the best care and I feel truly blessed to have traveled the journey through the valley of death with her. How are things with you?
