Introducing myself and my journal: The Writing Life
About Me:
I am a writer and book reviewer for Feminist Review, as well as the mother of two daughters. I am passionately concerned about women and children, the environment, and finding ways we can all live together more compassionately. I struggle to find ways to 'make a difference' even though I know that I feel most alive when I have a cause. I am thrilled to discover this community and hope to be able to add something to it.
My Passions:
reading, writing, animals, food, the environment
My Challenges:
listening to my own intuition
My Vision for the Future:
cultivating patience and compassion
My Areas of Expertise:
writing, reproductive rights, educational issues

Dear Kario,
Are those alpacas in your photo? They are adorable! Welcome to PulseWire, our community of grassroots women leaders and supporters of women's initiatives who are lifting our voices and connecting for change!
There are so many ways to get connected and "make a difference" in the women's movement... just by reaching out to women here on PulseWire and supporting their work in various ways. We also look forward to hearing more about you and your passions, experiences and dreams.

Welcome
Thank you for your hearty welcome! I couldn't find a good photo of myself (I am usually behind the camera, taking the photos), so I substituted those little guys. They are alpaca - indigenous to South America, but often farmed in the US for their wool. Those two had recently been weaned from their mothers (at about six months of age) and were curious but fearful of humans. I got to spend a few hours learning about them and enjoyed every minute.
I am thrilled to join this community. What a lovely, lovely place! Thank you again,
Kario
