Working together across borders = miracles

Prior to the recent health care changes to take place in the near future, the USA health care system is in shambles. A very, very expensive shambles. That is one reason I worked so hard (with others) for five years to get an affordable primary health clinic here in this rural town in Texas due to finally open by year's end.

Therefore, I was over-joyed to just read (AARP Bulletin) an article entitled "Iranian Cure for the Delta's Blues." In the state of Mississippi the Delta Region is well known for extreme poverty (as well as the birthplace for the Blues (music style)). A doctor from the Delta met with Mohammad Shahbazi, M.D.from southern Iran and chair of the Department of Behavioral and Environmental Health at Jackson State University and together they went to the Islamic Republic of Iran to explore Iran's Health Houses as a possible model for use in the Delta as well as in the US in general. Long story short, thanks to this Iranian model and much help from several Iranian health care specialists/professionals who came to the US to promote their medical model, Dr. Shirley is now in the process of setting up similar models in this extremely poor section of the Mississippi Delta.

While our mutual governments "...are practicing boisterous brinkmanship over nuclear proliferation, a small group of health care professionals from both countries are quietly working together to practice a new type of medicine,..." (ARRP Bulletin p. 12).

We the people of the world are together taking care of the business of the people of the world.

Thanks to the Islamic Republic of Iran for all your expert help and assistance in this important area. Because of your help fewer people in the United States of America will die needlessly because of lack of affordable health care.

COOPERATION

It is short but pungent, it sank deep into my soul, we all can see what togetherness can bring about, it can bring tremendous changes in the world....while these countries are busy building what destroys some few people are building what builds lives. That is the power of social work, and the unique blood that runs in our vein. I met a new friend, older woman who refused to be called a practicing Christians because there are more than enough Christians on earth who should be able to make the world a better place for us but there are no genuine impacts from such people.

Our number may be minute but in cooperation and unity we all can save those at the verge of death and destruction.
Thanks for this post, you are truly an inspiration to us, we will make it.....

Yesterday, a friend of mine invited me to a training on mentoring for a day in Yaba-Lagos, the participation fee is 200dollars, just a day, I told her that the mentoring I am receiving freely through both official and unofficial mentors on WORLDPULSE cannot be quantify because it is life long.

We may not believe or think of it but we are building our own bridges on World Pulse.........and very soon we will be attending opening of clinics and hospitals across the world....Products of WP.
Thanks for waking us up ma.
I admire you...Always.

A win!

This is such an inspirational post for so many reasons- not the least of which is the coming together of two cultures that are vastly different than each other. It shows that when we strip away all of the superlative politics that at our core we are all human and have the same needs to be met.

I truly hope that this model is successful. Thank you so much for posting this K-lee!

Much Love,

Sharese
