Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:

For now, I'll just share some images from the road... From years of work in emergencies and post-conflict settings... Story-lined faces -- the people who give me new understandings of extremes, death and life, joy and grief; who welcome me with hot-spiced chai, clear well water, and grainy palm wine; who question me and by doing so, continue to help me grow.

My Areas of Expertise:
Humanitarian Response, Civilian Protection, Gender-Based Violence

Wow. You images are very powerful. I look forward to the words you place with them to describe your journey. What lead you to this passion for photography and showing ppl the world through your creative eye? Do you do projects where others show the world through their eyes? I recently did a project with girls that I worked with in a home for abused and abandoned children where the world was seen through their eyes- it was very powerful.

I so very much look forward to exploring more of your photos. Your work seems inspiring and awesome. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to connecting with you further!

Much Peace,

Thanks for your note,

Thanks for your note, Sharese. It looks like you're also out there learning as much as you can from women around the world. I loved reading your piece on feminism.

I agree that projects that put the camera in the hands of women and girls can be extremely powerful. I haven't done this myself, but the International Rescue Committee has a great initiative called Global Crescendo in West Africa ( And you must know about the organization Kids with Cameras? It seems like you'd love their work.

I look forward to following your writing and art more!

Warm greetings...
