Announcing the First World Pulse Community Board Member!

Dear sisters,

Thank you for applying for the World Pulse Community Board Member position. We were overwhelmed by the high caliber of applicants and deeply moved by the leadership demonstrated and dedication to the World Pulse mission within this group.

We are excited to announce that Halima Rahman was selected to serve as World Pulse's first ever Community Board Member to represent the voices of women in the global south and women of the PulseWire community at the boardroom table. Congratulations Halima!

As this is the inaugural year for our Community Board Member program, we could only create one position on the board to represent the PulseWire community. However, because we were so moved by the powerful application essays, the impressive resumes and the spirit within this group to rise up and take leadership within this community to advocate for the voices of unheard women, we would like to transition this group to become the PulseWire Advisory Council.

This group will be closed and each of you who applied for this position are invited to join us on this prestigious council, where you can bring forward your concerns, ideas, and issues for Halima to take to the board. She will look to you to ensure that the voices of women from various backgrounds, regions and cultures are equally represented at the boardroom table.

We value your voice and hope that you will continue sharing ideas, experiences and issues within the PulseWire community and serve as a Council Member to help guide Halima in her work with the board.

You are a powerful group of women leaders! This is just the beginning of our transformative work together.

In friendship and solidarity,
Jade and the World Pulse Board of Directors

Chere soeur Zoneziwoh,
Je suis tres heureuse d'avoir une soeur francophone a mes cotes, avec qui on peut bavarder et exchanger des idees.

Wow! I am so delighted to have come a cross a Cameroonian sister with whom I can share ideas and chat every now and then in French language..I agree with you that ending violence and all forms of discrimination against women need joint ad global efforts.
Thank you so much for your promising views.

In friendship,

Halima

Re Chere Soeur Zoneziwoh

My pleasure too, Dear Halima.

I look forward exchanging idea with you. I read from your profile you are into mass media. what a great coincidence, I am also into communication but on a freelance and independent format, where I use my writings and articles to advocate agst GBV. I seem to be very new into the field, but very eager to discuss and suggest possible ways to end this act of discrimination on women.

My pleasure reading from you
I look forward learning much from you as we unitedly say No to VAW and Yes! for a Safer world for women

Thank you Janice

Dear Janice,

Thank you so much for your congrats! I want to thank you, and the rest of the World Pulse staff, for everything you had done for us.
Am well aware of the responsibility you handed me over, and I assure you, I will do my best to live up to your expectations and contribute in tailoring brighter future for women worldwide and let their voices be heard and echoed back...

This is could not be done without your help and the help of my colleagues on world pulse.

I would like to appreciate creating this post and selecting one of us as the first World Pulse Community Board Member. I would like also to emphasize that the choice of one of us means the responsibility of all…UNANIMOUSLY!. As we are the first VOF correspondents, we have to lead the way and give good example for those who follow.

I apologize for not writing back to thank you and comment on my colleagues’ comments. I had been disconnected from the internet since last Wednesday. Just only now I have access to the internet.

Love,

Halima
