Announcing the Selected Fellow

Dear sisters,

Thank you for applying for the Opportunity Collaboration Cordes Fellowship and for your patience in anticipation of this delayed announcement.

We are excited to announce that in partnership with World Pulse, the Opportunity Collaboration has chosen Lindy Wafula (mamaAfrica) as the recipient of the Cordes Fellowship to attend the 2010 Opportunity Collaboration in Ixtapa, Mexico. Lindy is the Founder/Director of Project Africa, an organization that promotes gender equality and empowerment of women and girls in rural Kenya. Congratulations Lindy!

We were so impressed by the high caliber of applications amongst this group of grassroots women leaders. Your essays make a powerful testament to the work that's happening worldwide in the women's movement. Thank you all for applying for the fellowship and for sharing your incredible work and vision with the PulseWire community. You are all leaders for women both in your own communities and for women worldwide, and we are honored to have your voice and leadership amongst us.

We found this experience to be such a valuable opportunity for our community, and we are committed to continue providing such opportunities to you. So please stay tuned and continue sharing your work with us and reaching out to supporters and other changemakers in the community who may be looking for a project to support.

Also, I encourage you to check our Resource Exchange from time to time, where scholarship, fellowship and training opportunities are often posted.

In gratitude and solidarity,

Sister Lindy!!!

Wow- congratulations! I am SO happy for you. You just embody the work you are doing. Your efforts are tireless, and you just keep going, and I am just so thankful how being a part of this community on WP and PulseWire has just helped to keep the momentum going!

Thank you WP for the opportunity and chance for so many women around the world to have a chance at an opportunity to attend the week in Mexico. I am sure that it will be a powerful week. I am so proud of the community of women that applied, to be able to read your words and the things we can do on a small scale that make such a huge difference.

congrats again to Mama Africa!!!! Blessings to you sister!!
