Introducing myself and my journal: Thoughts of Vibrancy

About Me:
I grew up in the beautiful city of Albuquerque, New Mexico where I stayed until I graduated from college. I love learning about everything and anything but I am most interested in human rights. I believe that anything can and will be accomplished if people work together and stay positive, and that is why I am so excited to be a part of Worldpulse.

My Passions:
researching, transitional justice, meeting new people, eating and laughing.

My Challenges:
learning Russian, getting used to the rain, and being brave.

My Vision for the Future:
I hope to see everyone talking with each other and not to each other.

My Areas of Expertise:
transitional justice and campaigning.

Thank you so much for commenting on my latest journal post today. I very much appreciate it.

I am happy to hear of your interest in human rights as that is my profession. I work mostly with NGO's in Southeast Asia and now several countries in Africa.

Not to mention I LOVE ALBUQUERQUE even though I've only been there a couple of times. What a beautiful place.

I look forward to hearing from you.

We have more than human

We have more than human rights in common where I placed most of my emphasis in my undergrad work on Southeast Asia. I am glad to hear you love Albuquerque, it is a wonderful place due to its strong history, culture, and people. If you ever go back let me know and I can be a little tour guide for you!

Sounds great. I'll count on it if and when I get back that way. I'm in central Texas. Not really THAT far away. :)

I just wanted to thank you for your words on henri_1681's post. It gave me another perspective on the daily struggles that I have live with.

Thank you

I am glad that I could help you out with my words. Her story touched me and I too was scared that I would have a disease due to my mom having it but luckily my mom found out here breast cancer was not genetic. I remember my mom crying to me that she would feel so guilty if she would have passed it down to me through her genes. It hurt me that people blame themselves on getting, having, and through genetics giving diseases. Thus, the story of henri_1681 was heartfelt because I had those same fears that she had but I didn't let the fear make my decisions, I made my decisions.

Hi Carri,

I couldn't help but notice your insightful comments on the "Holding Hand" stories. I admire that ability to be in that place with yourself to be able to be so empathetic to so many. Mine was one that you commented on.
