WebVisions 2010

"WebVisions explores the future of design, content creation, user experience and business strategy to uncover the trends and agents of change that will shatter your assumptions about the Web. Be ready to network, share ideas and be inspired by an all-star lineup of speakers."

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the WebVisions conference, which will take place at the Oregon Convention Center next week (May 19–21). WebVisions has consistently offered a great variety of topics and speakers, and this year looks to be no exception (see the schedule). You can read my recap of last year's conference here.

As in past years, WebVisions has again included many women in their speaker lineup for the workshops, sessions, and panels. Some highlights are listed below:

Kim Blessing
Workshop: HTML5 and CSS3

Erin Malone
Workshop: Designing Social Interfaces
Session: Go With the Flow: Designing Social Experiences

Agnieszka Gasparska
Keynote: Design Matters: Visual Personality on the Web

Kate Rutter
Workshop: Design Strategy in a Nutshell: Connecting Design with Business Value

Amber Case
Panel: Augmented Reality: The Panel

Dawn Foster
Panel: Techniques for Monitoring Online Communities

Alexa Andrzejewski
Session: The UX-Driven Startup

The following presentations look great as well:

Ryan Russell
Session: Design-Thinking for Social Change

Nick Finck
Session: Mobile Web UX

Adam DuVander
Session: Zoom In On Mapping and Location

Presented by Bike Hugger:
Panel: The (un)Wired Future of Bikes

I'm looking forward to attending WebVisions 2010 and learning about the new technologies and techniques that World Pulse can leverage to support our global mission. Look for my coverage of the conference next week!

Online registration is still available but ends tomorrow (Friday, May 14).
