Synergy, derived from the Greek synergia, means joint work and cooperative action. When we connect and create an effect greater than going it alone, we are living in Synergy. A business that has tapped into its SYNERGY is a business that is WEALTHY, PHILANTHROPIC and poised for LONG-TERM GROWTH.

What Is Your Personal Story?

“Each of us can look at women that came before us and find an inspiration, a strength, a wisdom that has been passed down to us.”

I come from a legacy of women who started their own businesses from scratch. Reflecting on their life stories gives me confidence that all women can turn their hobbies, talents and skills into profitable businesses that support families and communities. I think about my great-grandmother who, against all odds, created a successful farming business. I think of both of my grandmothers who made businesses out of their love of sewing. And I see my mother today, who started her early education business almost 20 years ago at the age of 35, I continue to be inspired.

One year ago, I jumped into the entrepreneurs Club and I am having the time of my life! The leap was calculated, but still with great risk. What gave me the strength to Just Do It was a combination of faith, family and confidence that hard work and innovative ideas and strategies are still in demand in the marketplace.

Being a business owner is not going to be easy. But it is going to be REWARDING. The INDEPENDENCE, CREATIVITY and SATISFACTION from driving your own enterprise is unmatched. If you have any desire to take the entrepreneurial journey, here are some helpful tips:

1. Create Customers:

Figure out what’s missing from the marketplace. Where are the gaps in the service and product offerings? What do people need and what will they pay for? Align your passion with the services or products that will solve for the gaps you have identified.

2. Connect with other Women in Business: When you start your business, please know there are so many women in business who are willing to share their experiences, challenges and network. You will find that once you enter the Club, there will be a committee of supporters, sponsors and ambassadors ready to be catalysts for your success. I have a team of women who constantly make introductions and market my business to their relationships. This resource has been the greatest source of my deal flow to date.

3. Value your Business: I was recently reminded that I must put a price on my time, services, and expertise. Giving away free services or products is a strategy used to introduce and market business, however, when there is a customer that is not paying for your service or you give away too much, your price is being driven down and it will take lots of effort to get that customer back to your real value.
