“Giving global women a voice on the World Pulse board of directors” World Pulse Members! Let us be Ambassadors for women of the world.
Before starting writing my essay I tried to find out how many members World Pulse has got. You may be sure the number is big. But for me just a “physical” number is not enough. The ideology is more important. And, Yes! This is a space which has an ideology. This is a community which makes together women from the South to the North, from the West to the East, from different countries. This is a community which makes together women with different cultures, traditions, nations. And the ideology is to raise a woman voice, to empower a woman.
The work I do in my country – Armenia, in my organization – Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA), is similar to the work done by World Pulse. Being a leading organization in women field AYWA has the same task – to empower young women, to increase their role in our society. AYWA envisions a sound community without marginalized people, which is gender just, culturally plural, socially and economically equitable and politically participatory, peaceful, democratic, secular, and ecologically sane. “Education. Inspiration. Empowerment” – this is the slogan for Armenian Young Women’s Association.
Trying to be practical I’ll introduce what I would intend to do while being a World Pulse community Board Member. I’ll be able to encourage more women to share with others with their good practice, experience, thoughts. Women everywhere need more encouragement. And, I see World Pulse task not only as a discussions organizer but also as an initiator and an implementer of different kinds of online competitions and events. This can be counted as another stage for World Pulse.
This is a very typical place to bring Gandhi’s words: “Be the change you want to see in the world”. I want to see changes in the world. And I will be the change.

The change you want to see
Lilit,
It sounds as if you are already on the path to changing the world around you with your work for AYWA. You are right in saying that AYWA's vision is similar to that of World Pulse's. With more voices such as yours, we can create the world we all wish to live in and I thank you for starting in Armenia. Best wishes,
Janice

Education. Inspiration. Empowerment
Dear Lilit,
You have captured the essence of PulseWire - in that we are not counted by our sheer number, but by the spark in our hearts and the rich connections, discussions, and exchanges that take place among us. It is exciting to hear about your work in Armenia to empower women through education and inspiration - and your participation in this global community is so powerful for everyone here because you have created a window and a direct line between the Armenian women's movement to the global women's movement.
All the best,
Jade
