Hello All,

So I propose we read add "The Blue Sweater" for the May/June reading, and "Women Among Warlords" for July/August. Open to suggestions though, if anyone, would like to offer ideas.

I do think it's a good idea to be fluid with the reading lists. I know that many members have read the books at different times, due to access and availability. I think that is great, and seems to work better than a book just for designated months. Our book club is a work in progress, we can adjust it to work how we think best. The point is to read and connect, right? That's what makes this book club space so fantastic.

Well, I look forward to hearing your feedback. Hope you are all doing well!

All good things,

Sounds Good

I'll see about getting The Blue Sweater on hold at my library asap.

Do we just post things up here when we have thought on it as we read? How does the discussion usually work?

discussion thread

Hi Maurie,

So glad you are a part of the book club! I look forward to connecting with you and hearing your thoughts and perspectives in the coming months.

So,details of the book club... anyone can start a thread. I would be happy to create the thread, and then anyone who would like to commentate can do so. Or, if you would like to start the discussions on a particular book, just click the 'contribute' tab in the main page of the World Pulse Book Club Group. Then create a post(thread), and begin the online conversations.

I'm excited to hear your thoughts!

The Blue Sweater

Hi Jody,

Great suggestions! I am looking forward to reading The Blue Sweater as after watching the video Jacqueline's video on the Acumen Fund's wesbite (, I was intrigued!

Thank you for your leadership in this book club - we are all learning together and sharing in the joys of knowledge, literature, storytelling and interpretation together.

The Blue Sweater

Ok! so it sounds like "The Blue Sweater" is a go! I'll add it to our reading list for May/June. Of course everyone please continue to read and discuss the other books as well. Just adding to the book shelf. More to read, more to discuss.

"Women Among Warlords" on the list for July/August?

Looking forward to the next read!

The Blue Sweater

I just finished reading it. Soooo good. Makes me want to run right over to Africa! (Would love to anyway.) A great read in micro-financing. A good heads-up for that field of work.

I am catching up now with Returning to My Mother's House and A Woman Among Warlords just arrived.

Book List

The titles are amazing and since I'm just now getting back into the swing of reading, are there any old lists around and how do we do we communicate? I mean post just as we have a thought about something?
