Ending Rural Poverty Video

Thank you all for your warm welcome to the PulseWire/WorldPulse community!

As a way to help you folks come to learn more about our work, I invite you to watch a brief video entitled 'Ending Rural Poverty':

Shot throughout Central America and Mexico, this video explores the human impact of poverty - revealing the critical nature of land ownership in alleviating poverty - outlining the holistic approach of the Agros model.

Women's empowerment is a cornerstone piece of our work, whether it be Women's Community Banks or the assurance that women sign the land title equally with their husband.

I have been reading through your site and am inspired by the work you are doing. As Nicholas Kristof said so eloquently, "It is impossible to realize our goals while discriminating against half the human race. As study after study has taught us, there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women."

I hope that you will share the stories of the women and communities you are helping in Central America and Mexico, and share your solutions so that other members may apply the sustainable agricultural practices you teach. Welcome to PulseWire,

I was moved by the video - by the determined faces of the people spotlighted in Mexico and Central America and by the vision of the Agros founder. Having traveled through these areas, it is amazing to witness the beauty and abundance of the landscape, alongside such poverty. By helping families to take ownership of land, to grab hold of their futures and to have the opportunity to determine their livelihoods - is so powerful.

Have you read the recent article in World Pulse Magazine on women's land rights?

I also invite you to join the Land Rights group, as I sense you have much information and wisdom to share with the other members based on your work with Agros.

Thanks for sharing, and please continue to share with our community!

Warm regards,
