Introducing myself and my journal
I believe wholeheartedly that to make a significant and lasting impact to quell the pervasiveness of poverty, a truly holistic approach that addresses the needs of the larger community and not just the individual is most effective. And that is why I support and believe in the work of Agros International. Agros brings hope and faith to people to empower themselves, to literally work their own way out of poverty. We are committed to breaking the systemic cycle of poverty for rural families in Central America and Mexico by enabling landless communities to achieve land ownership, economic stability, and create thriving, sustainable communities for future generations. To do this, we employ a development model that is truly holistic, incorporating community organization, human development, land ownership, education and training, and sustainable economic development to ensure measurable, longstanding results. This commitment to the long-term sustainability of a whole community, a maturation process that is typically in the form of a seven to ten year partnership, has been proven to break the cycle of poverty in all its forms in over 39 villages to date.
