VOFCN Module 3: Broadcasting Social Change
Greetings Women of VOFCN!
It is wonderful to see all of your activity on PulseWire! You continue to breathe life into our community with your fresh, engaging content. We hope that the materials in last month's Security module have been helpful for you in analyzing risks and developing a personal security plan. We have been hard at work putting together the new module, Broadcasting Social Change: Increasing Your Web Presence, and we are excited to be launching it today!
This module will provide you with a summary of available tools and resources for making the Web work for you. As bloggers with bold voices and visions, it is important for you to attract an audience to shape thought and opinion. With Web 2.0 technologies, the power to influence global journalism is in your hands. The materials we've provided will highlight some practices that you can implement to amplify your social change work.
We hope that these materials will illuminate new opportunities for you, and reveal some interesting ways to find and share great web content. We encourage you to ask questions, dialogue, and help one another by sharing your valuable insights as you work through this month's module. Please email us with any questions or feedback, or send us your thoughts on PulseWire!

Thank you so much
Since yesterday I have been visiting all the links, surfing around the different pages that you refered to us. I really appreciate the opportunity to make our voices be heard further up.
This is awesome, but sometimes I stumble into words that I don´t know. For example, what is plug-in? a site map? a code snippet? API? Blogroll? Shortlink?
Please give me a hand with these new terms. I think all of us will benefit with a little "dictionary" like that we can reach whenever we need to understand what is going on in one of the pages we are surfing.
Again, thank you so much for the help.
Hugs,
Jackie

Great question
Hi Jackie,
Thanks for your comments. We're putting together a dictionary like you asked for, look for it soon! We're thinking that a more comprehensive dictionary of terms would be useful at the beginning of the next VOF program this year. What do you think?
In the meantime, I would encourage you to do a quick Google-search (with "define" after the word) or use Wikipedia to look up any unfamiliar terms that you come across.
Thanks again and good luck putting these tools into practice!
Best,
Scott

Thanks Scott
This tip will be very useful. And I look forward to having the dictionary. Also, you are right, the new program will surely benefit from a dictionary.

Jackie
