Community Development

We have just had a wonderful St Monica's Feast celebration and a successful funds drive in aid of constructing a Pastoral and Retreat Centre for the Catholic Women.

The Ceremony was held on 28th August 2010 where over 5,000 women from all over the Nairobi Archdiocese participated. Over the years, the Catholic Women Association members have been holding their meetings in church halls, and open fields. These meetings have continued to attract a huge turnout hence a need for a more permanent facility to host the members. A number of meetings have even been disrupted by adverse weather conditions.

Fortunately, the church has allocated a 3 acre piece of land to the women of the Catholic Women Association, who now plan to construct a Pastoral and Retreat Centre. The facility will be used for retreats, seminars and workshops for the women, other Christians and people of good will. When the centre will be up and running, the group will be able to sustain itself and empower both women and the girl child from the proceeds.

I will keep you posted on the new developments.

With regards
