Introducing myself and my journal: From The Dry Ground Up

About Me:
While studying in England I made a group of friends from around the world that while vastly culturally different are united by the same passion. One friend, Belinda, is from Zimbabwe and returned to her country last year to begin helping those in her rural community, eventually leading her to start her own non-profit organization called Ruvheneko Trust. It has been a privilege to partner with her in her work and utilize the massive resources our friends as a global network have to help her.

My Vision for the Future:
A community center and school in rural Zimbabwe

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm still getting my bearings around here but I'm so excited about all the amazing things that are going on in this community and all the resources that are being shared. To be honest this is all very new for me and I'm learning every step of the way. I love that we have something in common having friends who teach in Zimbabwe! My friend Belinda studied Biology in university and has also done some teaching.

How do you like the peace corps? I have a friend who recently was nominated for a position in West Africa and she is just waiting on a placement. I am so excited for her! I'd love to hear more about your experience and what you've been doing.

Talk to you soon!

Caitie
