Introducing myself and my journal: Composing A Life
About Me:
As a college student forty years ago, I had goals, plans and dreams and a belief that I would be able to meet them all. But circumstances are often unpredictable, and a straight path to dream fulfillment becomes a winding path, which can narrow, widen or switch back on itself. Sometimes it's paved with sadness and regret, sometimes with joy, confidence and laughter. So, despite those youthful intentions, my life has had many twists and turns. Now I am recapturing some of the idealism of those years, choosing opportunities to redefine my story. I know that sharing with women around the world in this forum will open the doors and windows of opportunity, and help me . . . .compose. . . . a life of meaning, giving and love. (Sound hokey? Yeah, probably a little.)
My Passions:
Learning new things, loving new people, giving what I can
My Challenges:
Finding others who share my passions
My Vision for the Future:
A world for my grandchildren where women hold up half the sky.
My Areas of Expertise:
Project Planning and Organization

Winding path
Judith,
So many pieces of your introduction stood out to me, not hokey at all. The wisdom gained from a winding path, the recapturing of idealism, the willingness to share and be open with strangers (who will quickly become friends) - all these things inspire me.
I just finished reading "Half the Sky" and your words about creating a world for your grandchildren where women hold up half the sky are beautiful. The power of those words spoken and acted upon by one individual can set off a chain of events you may never even realize. I look forward to hearing more of your voice and your stories here.
All my best,
Rebecca
