Introducing myself and my journal: Human Rights

About Me:
I am Sangita Karki from Nepal. Now, I am in Chittagong, Bangladesh studying at the Asian University for Women in the Access Academy. I haven't written or spoken about any human rights topic before but after witnessing the human right violations, I feel compelled to raise my voice. In Nepalese society, where the majority of people are Hindu, there is a community which is not considered as a part of human society. They are called the "Dalit" and considered "Untouchable". And I choose World Pulse as a platform to raise my voice worldwide to stop this inhumane practice.

My Passions:
social justice

My Challenges:
Classism

My Vision for the Future:
To fight for the rights of the"Dalits"

A warm welcome!

Hello and welcome to PulseWire! Know that we have an amazing coalition of members from the Asian University for Women as well as from all over the world, and we warmly welcome your voice to the community. Perhaps you also know Sunita, one of World Pulse's Voices of Our Future Correspondents who is also from Nepal. I learned about the untouchable class from her article "DALIT!! DON'T TOUCH ME" and would love to hear more from you about it. If you have any questions about our community, let me know and I will help you get started. Welcome again.

Be well,
Michelle

Can't wait to hear your voice

Namaskar. Welcome to PulseWire. It is so exciting to hear more voices rise up from Nepal, a country that is little covered by the mass media. I look forward to reading your thoughts, concerns and dreams for the Dalit people who face so many challenges in their everyday lives. It is important for the community to hear firsthand the issues and experiences of the Dalit so that we are not only educated on this form of discrimination but can also learn how to support them. They are fortunate to have voices such as your own and Sunita's speaking out for their community, and I know that by you telling their story, one more voice may feel empowered to speak out and take a stand against the injustices directed at them.

So, share your ideas with us when you are ready. We eagerly await your voice. Hajur ko din ramro hos,
Janice
