Introducing myself and my journal: Aver School

About Me:
I am curious, love playing and connecting with people that are following their hearts and are engaged in what they love. I also have a particularily soft spot for orphans and kids who find themselves in unsafe family situations. In the last four years, I've been facilitating a photo/video workshop for kids at an orphanage in Mexico and hope to someday extend the Aver School program to other countries.

My Passions:
Family, Teaching, Being Curious, Travel

My Challenges:
Too many opportunities, seemingly not enough time.

My Vision for the Future:
I envision children in orphanages having a high quality digital media education and skills for self-expression.

My Areas of Expertise:
Facilitating workshops, playing, teaching, holding the space, loving my family.

Welcome!

Hi Ruth,

Welcome to PulseWire. This is a safe space for women to share, connect, learn, support and grow in the empowerment process together!

I am interested to hear more about the Aver School program in Mexico. I encourage you to use your journal as a place to introduce yourself further and share information about your organzation with the PulseWire community. Think of your journal as a blog, where you can speak your mind and reach an audience of nearly 3000 women and supporters of women's initiatives. I think that you will find PulseWire to be an exciting place to garner support, make connections and share your story.

I'd like to introduce you to Dana Gold, who is the Program Director of Infinite Family. Infinite Family's unique and cutting edge video mentoring brings adults from around the world face to face with South African orphans and children struggling with poverty, disease and a lack of caring adults in their lives. Using video conferencing, email and the internet, lives are shared, hope is renewed and children are encouraged to plan for their future. It sounds like you are working in similar fields and could possibly share with and learn from each other.
