AM REALLY GRATEFUL TO SHARE MY LIFE EXPERIENCE WITH WOMEN OF DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AS I
AM A TOTAL ORPHAN AGED 23 YEARS OLD. WHEN MY PARENTS DIED I WAS
LEFT IN CHARGE OF MY FAMILY .I BECAME THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY WHEN
I WAS 19 YEARS OLD. BOTH OF MY PARENTS DIED OF HIV AIDS, IT WAS REALLY
PAINFUL TO SEE MY MOTHER GO ALL THE SUFFERING SHE UNDER WENT THROUGH,
I WAS FILLED WIYH TEARS WHEN I SAW HER GASPING FOR THE LAST BREATH, I TRIED
TO FIGURE OUT HOW WILL LIFE GO BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ONE WHO WAS
THERE TO TAKE CARE OF US.
IT WAS REALLY HARD TO BRING UP MY FOUR SISTERS AND ONE BROTHER . SOMETIMES
WE ARE FORCED TO SLEEP HUNGRY BECOUSE OF FOOD SHORTAGE, ALSO WE ARE
NOT ABLE TO CATER FOR ALL OUR PERSONAL NEEDS LIKE ,SANITARY TOWELS, BUYING
NEW CLOTHES FOR OURSELFS, TO GET A NEW SHOE OR CLOTHE WE HAVE TO GO
TO SOMEONES SHAMBA AND WORK THERE. ALSO IT VERY PAINFUL TO SEE MY
YOUNGER SISTER WHO WAS BORN WITH THE HIV VIRUS GO THROUGH THE SUFFERING,
WHEN SHE IS AILING FROM THE OPPORTUNISTIC DISEASES SHE SUFFERS ALOT
BECOUSE I DONT HAVE THE AMOUNT FOR HER MEDICATION .
WE ARE ALL IN SCHOOL AND SCHOOL SHOPPING IS ALSO CHALLENGE TO US
I CAN NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THEM WITH IT. S
SOMETIMES WHEN AM STRESSED WITH THESE ISSUES I GO TO AN EXTENT OF SAYING
THAT, I WISH I WAS NOT BORN. SINCERELY SPEAKING WE HAVE GONE AND STILL GOING
THROUGH ALOT OF SUFFERING, BUT I BELIEVE THAT ONE DAY IT WILL COME TO AN END SINCE POVERTY HAS GOT NO ROOTS. DESPITE THE DARKNESS WE ARE IN I KNOW THAT
ONE DAY SUNSHINE WII BE ON OUR SIDE. RERGADLESS OF THESE ISSUES HAVE
NEVER ALLOWED MYSELF TO BE MISUSED BY MEN, BECAUSE MANY HAVE APPROCHED
IN NAME THAT IF I FULLFILL THEIR DESIRES THEY ARE GOING TO HELP ME AND MY
FAMILY. AS LADY I HAVE MY OWN PRINCIPLES AND I TRY AS HARD AS I CAN TO FOLLOW
THEM.

Welcome to our community

Hi Prisca,

I'm so glad that you have joined our community and that you've taken this brave step in sharing your story, your fears and your courage with us. You have been through so much, at such a young age.

I'd like to introduce you to some women here on PulseWire who live in Kenya run organizations that help young women like you. Perhaps you can reach out to them and find support for you and your siblings.

You are a brave girl and will

You are a brave girl and will be able to pass this tough period. The darkness will go and give way to sunshine.
May God bless you and your family.
