Alright Iran!

I just read a headline that said that Iran just approved it's first female minister in the 30 year history of the Islamic republic (according to BBCNews). Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi will be the new Minister of Health. I think that is a wonderful accomplishment. Unfortunately 2 other females were rejected for Minister positions. However, every step toward female empowerment is a good one in my opinion. I was at first taken aback by Ms. Dastjerdi's proposal to segregate hospitals in Iran so that women are treated by women and men by men, however upon further thought, perhaps this will open more doors for women to become doctors and having a woman who may be familiar with female issues treat and empathize with a scared female patient will be a positive thing.

Anyway, just wanted to give a hooray to Iran's parliament in this instance.
