Book lists

I am thrilled to find this Book Club...is there a simple way to post the list of books and months? I had to read through all the comments to figure out which book to start with.

Hi Debra, We too are thrilled

Hi Debra,

We too are thrilled that you've found our Book Club! You made an excellent point... it is not clear when joining which books are to be read. So far we've settled on two books:

September - Daughter of Destiny: An Autobiography by Benazir Bhutto
October - No Woman No Cry by Rita Marley

I've added these to the Group Description here, so that when others join, they can find out the selections right away. Thank you so much for this suggestion!

I'm on page 95 of Daughter of Destiny and find it to be a heartbreaking, yet powerful book. Enjoy!

Warm regards,
Jade

Hi All,

September! Let the reading begin.. Benazir Bhutto is a courageous, bold woman! I have been engulfed in her life. I look forward to hearing all your comments.
I wanted to also take a moment to say that I feel so blessed to have this precious opportunity to connect with all of you women and hear the power of your voice.

good reads,

Jody

checking in..

Hey!

Kizzie- good to see your post, just thinking yesterday that it has been some time since I have seen a post from you- was missing them!!

I am almost done...I have had the book since the beginning of August though, and take it to work with me where I have some extra time at the end of a shift..I can't wait to start the conversation, way too intense for me at times...lots to say, and I will leave it at that.

Also- glad to see on the Pulse Wire update that I received that the group was featured!! That is exciting- maybe we will have some other members find us that way as well.

enjoy the reading- looking forward to connecting and the discussion as the time comes!

Darcey

Hello ladies, Jade, Thanks

Hello ladies,

Jade,
Thanks for doing that:)

Debra,
Jade posted the link,
We are reading No Woman No Cry by Rita Marley next month.

Darcey,

Hello there:)
It's Ramadan here and the days are long and slow and at night, we watch a lot of tv and pray:)
I can't wait to start the discussion too!

Ladies,
This is a link to a very interesting article on women and fiction in Pakistan, Bhutto's books are not fiction, but it's an interesting look at women's writings in Pakistan

Reading...

I am enjoying the book. I am about a quarter of the way through- this month has been busy. However I am taking the day to read all day.

I can't wait to have our discussion.

Jodelight- I agree, I love connecting with other women, especially through liturature!

Kizzie- I am glad to hear from you :) Like Darcey said, it has been a while. I hope Ramadan is going well.

To all- I am sending you love and peace! Happy reading.

Love,

Sharese
