Semenya Sparks Controversy Over 800 Meter World Championship Win

worlds_brl454.jpg

18 year old South African Caster Semenya recently won the 800 meter final of the World Championships in Berlin, clocking the best time this year and easily beating the competition. Now officials want her to undergo a "gender verification test" to ensure she is really a woman. The test involves evaluations from a panel of experts including a gynecologist, an endocrinologist, a psychologist, an internal medicine expert, and a "gender expert," who will determine whether she can keep her medal. Semenya is reportedly humiliated over the ordeal.
