Introducing myself and my journal: Tech Transformations

About Me:
I recently co-founded Joint Leap Technologies, a company specializing in web development and social media strategy for nonprofits. We're partnered with a nonprofit, Feminist Approach to Technology, where we direct the majority of our profit and work to combine our missions.

The company is based in New Delhi, where I'll be living for the next year. I consider myself ridiculously lucky to be working in a job that I love, while still enjoying the various indulgences of travel. I'd love to connect with other development workers internationally, especially those using technology in innovative ways.

My Passions:
tech for social change, travel, reading fiction, making music

My Areas of Expertise:
online tech strategy, marketing

Thanks!

Thanks for the sweet comment. It's such a pleasure to meet other women entrepreneurs- you're truly a role model!

I visited the "Red Aphrodite" site, and it looks like you have some beautiful products. Has Etsy been helpful to you in getting your product to more people?

I look forward to discussing and learning more with you.

Thanks,
Lisa

Role models

Lisa,

So many role models here on this site- it's awe staggering to witness the amount and depth of savvy, wise, brilliant, loving hearts and minds on Pulsewire. I'm constantly amazed at what the members are envisioning, doing, and changing in this world.

What is India like for you? How did you make it to India? Members will be very interested to learn more.

Etsy- I haven't really tapped it- like anything you need to understand how it works and work the system. Red Aphrodite mostly has sold to retail stores in Oregon and throughout the states. It has gone further than I could have imagined and at the same time has been quiet in the last months. Retail products are a very different breed than artistic expression and the business took on more of the former than the latter. The retail product side became tedious, and needs shifting back to expression and imagination. Balance in the arts/business realm is definitely a skill and art. Thanks for the comments!

Best to you and look forward to hearing more.

Warmly,
Laura
