It's Pakistan' 63rd birthday and the plan is to celebrate it in a meaningful way. So, we've decided to show our appreciation by beautifying the homeland with a tree (actually trees) and our hope is that you'll join us too!
Since the motto is to "Go Green" all across, why not actually live up to it and make a long term investment. After all, hum nahin kareinge to aur kaun karega?
So let's step up and make it count. One tree at a time.
Not sure how far this is going to go but we have our fingers crossed and InshaAllah, this will go beyond the usual ceremonial display of patriotism and actually result in saplings lined across our neighbourhoods.
The plan is simple. Use facebook and other mediums of Web 2.0 to rally Pakistanis all across the spectrum, - within Pakistan and across the globe - raise awareness about one issue which happens to be right at the top amongst a few others, and harness it into a golden opportunity.
If you're outside Pakistan, we still expect you to plant one. Just say a little prayer for our homeland and make sure you're an appreciated expat!
Otherwise, just tell people back home and convince them to do so.
If you're home...well, go find yourself a spot!
Whether it's a pot or on ground, whatever works. Have fun while you're at it. Once you're done, make sure you let us know. Post a photograph/video and inspire others!
ps: We want to encourage everyone to go beyond this one act, if you're up for it. Pick up that litter, refrain from using plastic or spitting on the pavement. If you can and want to take it a notch above then sponsor a child' education. Keep it simple but make a contribution. Ohh, and don't forget to hoist the green lady high up!
