Jury Still Out on Green Tea

You might have heard that green tea helps prevent cancer because of its powerful antioxidants, called polyphenols. You might also have heard that it doesn't. To try to resolve the debate, the Cochrane Collaboration (an independent organization that evaluates scientific research) recently reviewed 20 years' worth of studies that included more than 1.6 million people.

The verdict? While some evidence suggests that green tea may help prevent certain cancers, the findings were, unfortunately, too conflicting and insufficient to come to any definitive conclusions at this time.
