Month Two Learning Material and Assignment

Warm greetings, Correspondents! How you are feeling? Have you had the opportunity to rest and recuperate since your finishing your interviews? Are you ready to dive into the second month? This month focuses on how to develop and structure a news story. Before we dive in, though, I have a few short announcements.

First, I want to share how deeply all of your interviews are touching each and every community member who reads them. Bravo for giving voice to these amazing women and their stories! These interviews are only the beginning...

Second, Jensine, Scott, Cristi, the rest of the World Pulse team and I are so excited about your next assignment. The Frontline Journal is an integral part of what makes World Pulse and our editorial cycle unique. You are about to bring our cycle to life as never before.

Third, we will be scheduling our second round of Q & A with Cristi next week. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the learning material or assignment, please do not hesitate to ask any of us.

Finally, I am thrilled to announce that we hosted our first orientation for the Editorial Midwives last night. These Midwives are here to support your unique editorial voice. They are professional writers, journalists, and editors. We will make a more official announcement soon. They are so eager to connect with and support you!

Without further ado....

How are you holding up?

Khushbu,

You DO have a lot on your plate combined with your recent incident. I know if we put our heads together we can figure out a way to maximize what you are already doing for this assignment. And, of course, don't hesitate to reach out with questions or requests for input and guidance. We are here for you.

I am good

Hi Jennifer...

I have finally gotten over the incident...just that i miss my phone...struggling to save enough to get a new one...using a real old one at the moment,.but i am fine...mobile phones are just a means to communicate...i am not a very fancy person, anyway...so its perfectly fine with me.

The event is just 3 days ahead...and i am freaking out,,,we are getting a good response altogether but unless it gets over...my apprehension will not die....

Honestly, i have not been able to keep up with the learning material. Have downloaded everything but havent been able to give it a read...have been so busy...I will very soon post my story angle....i am trying to figure out what should i focus on...

I am glad that you guys are there...i will get back to you once i read the learning materials...and if i have any problems..

Thank you tons for all the help...

XOXO

I know what to do. I will learn and have fun at the same time.(Gid help me, because i have meetings and programmes lined me up too).

Thank you for the hard work in helping send us this. Thanks for your patinece and tolerance with our assignments as well.

Are you having fun?

I love the goal you set - to have fun and learn at the same time. It must be working because I saw (and commented on) your story angle.

That being said, how are you feeling? Are you still struggling?

Trying to

Salut Jennifer,
i try to have as much as possible and learn at the same time. it can be challenging as i have thoughts of the assignment drop as i try to have fun. I think this is due to the fact that i hold the philosophy "Pay now, play later."

i feel better today...i just have to bold enough to face the past.

It is good to see you post the month two assignment. I know the rat race has started again but it is good to move forward.
My dear friend Khushbu, It is going to require a lot of struggle but at the end we will do it.

The thanks is all mine

I feel like what I do is easy compared to the incredible stories that the correspondents - YOU - have poured from your hearts and souls. Every day I am humbled by your grace, strength, and wisdom. I must admit, though, that I am impatient for the next round of assignments.

Tell me more...

Nusrat,

Don't hold back your questions. My instinct, though, is that you may be thinking "too hard" on this assignment, which is completely natural. Your recent posts already contain so many elements of a Frontline Journal. Every story you have written since starting on this journey has led you to this place. Remember the application? Turn back to those writings that carried so much wisdom and vision for a way forward. With the uncertain situation in your town, I believe that once you get started, your words will flow.

We are here for you.

Love,
Jennifer

Question

Not sure if this is the right place to post my question regarding assignment two:
I was looking at the three examples for the frontline journals, and they all seemed personal.
Should we write the next assignment in first person and refer to a theme through our own eyes?

Just need that clarification.

Thanks,
Arda
