Introducing myself and my journal: soft boundaries

About Me:
it is always, repeatingly amazing for me how women are capable of anything.this website is a revelation to a type and group of creative women who really made me see how beauty can truly evolve from ugliness and how strength and freedom can be born from oppression.
i was born in 1976 in khartoum,to educated parents who believed completely in human rights and fighting against all types of discrimination, especially sexual. therefore, i believe i was raised in an oasis in the heart of a desert thristy for human respect!
i am now a practising physician in saudia arabia- riyadh, married with two sons.ironically,i am the only woman in the house!!!!

My Passions:
poetry, politics, acting ,swimming and writing.

My Challenges:
to conquer my misgivings and succeed as a writer.

My Vision for the Future:
a democratic sudan with equal opportunities and female president

My Areas of Expertise:
political reviews, human right articles, wimen health topics.

why soft boundaries??!

Have you ever smelled the beautiful, sexy scent of the sudanese incense?Have you ever experienced the lavish, luxurious feeling of many hands massaging and scrubbing you to a shiny peice of gold?Do you realise how nice is the sensation of being taken care of and pampered to the extent of feeling like a princess?
Oh God! all these - my dears- are soft boundaries ..nice to experience and hard to break....boundaries made by love...but the wrong type of love...the love of posession and the yearn to be possessed!...these are the boundaries carved into our minds since childhood..when we were dressed nicely... decorated by henna...and given gifts and money just to have our genetalia severed brutally! boundaries so soft and pleasant that you forget by time how life can taste and smell without them!!...
Frankly, i am not against beauty or making yourself beautiful for the one you love, but i am truly against stereotyping of beauty! in preparing me for my wedding women of my circle insisted that i sit on the sweet smelling , wood-burning container or hole in order to smell nice and feel soft for my groom and moreover; had me scrubbed repeatedly from head to toe then waxed painfully.. which really made me wonder why males never go through this torture in order to look nice for the bride!!!......i knew the answer,, we were the sex symbols and the flies who should shine to attract the other sex. we were the monkeys who generate a peculiar scent in the mating season!
NO! it didnt becasue it was a soft , sweet smelling kind of boundary imprinted in our minds.......
look beautiful and sexy to be desired!
Isnt this sad?
