Hello multi-talented

Hello multi-talented hard-working lady,:)

It's great to have you here! I'm sure this is going to be a positive experience. I encourage you to write a journal post and tell us more about yourself. What did you study as an undergraduate and why are you studying education? I'm really interested in knowing more about your interested in dancing. Also, how are you planning to integrate dancing into the curriculum.

You should look at Besant Hill, it's a creative arts school in California. I've meet a teacher and some students from there and they are so amazing and talented.

Also, you may also be interested in joining a group of members with similar interests to your own where you can talk about issues that concern you, or find support. We encourage you to start your own group if you do not find one that matches your interests. You can find the group directory at:

best wishes,

More about me

Hello friends,

Here is a bit more about my background and interests. I've put it in a freeform list format because my time is precious as I prepare for a summer of teaching:

Born in Portland, Oregon -- traveled the world and lived in many sections of the US. Speak English well and a bit of this and that.

Under grad in Business from University of Oregon.

Post Grad work at Oregon State University and now at Washington State University in Vancouver, WA. Obtaining a Masters in Teaching with an Elementary Education Certification. Graduating in Summer 2010!

DANCE! Started ballet at 6 and then added tap, Spanish, folk, jazz, modern, creative movement, and funk. I am interested in pedestrian movement and helping children love their own form of movement and their body.

I believe education and movement should be blended at the elementary level. Let's get those kids learning kinesthetically too! I've seen barriers lifted for kids with special needs or who are ESL learners or just have their unique style of understanding that is not in the instruction format we use in the US Public Schools.

I love cooking for friends, planning parties and special events, world music, reading, summer, and nature.

That's it in a nutshell.

World Pulse Live

Just attended the Portland event at Mercy Corp. What strong courageous women who have found this great network. Inspirational stories and warm greetings. If you can attend in the other cities of this tour I highly recommend spending an evening with such role models.
