When to move on, or why you should do it right now
I want to share with you the one phrase that struck me the most this week: ‘You don’t kill a winning horse just because it is limping now’ and I want to paraphrase this and say: ‘You don’t throw away a life just because you’ve been limping lately’.
It may or may not be our fault to limp, but we need to open our minds and see the bigger picture: this limping is one of many, and we need to love ourselves very much, see our faces in the mirror and say: “Honey, I love you anyway, you can be limping right now, but you will still win the race tomorrow. Keep walking until you can run”. Because walking is better than staying still, without movement, like a statue that does not move or feel anything.
Many times it seems like things in life are so NOT what we wanted them to be, that we begin to limp. And we start taking time off. We close our eyes and decide that we cannot do anything for the day. People then think we are kind of lazy that day. What they don’t know is that we are not lazy, we just have become a statue for the day. The problem behind this behavior is that it doesn’t lead us into better and greener pastures. Instead you need to realize that it builds up more limping. Don’t be a statue for the day. Start walking again, even if limping. Make sure you move. Make sure you feel the movement in your legs, in your heart and in your head. Get up. Stand up for yourself. Play the game, don’t just stir at it.
See your value, woman. Step forward. Your action, your movement, will show off your talent. Yes. Don’t tell me you don’t have talent, because you do. The limping will go away sooner than you think, and your talent will remain. Pick up the pieces. Look at the eyes of life itself and tell her that you love her and that you appreciate the great gift she is for you. And move on. Laziness is an image in your mind that you need to erase because you are not lazy, you are just playing in the minor leagues for a moment.
So, remember that winners in the big leagues play the game every day, and they don’t kill a horse just because it is limping.

I love this
It is true that we sometimes get to where we just want to be like a statue and we do sometimes need a push to get going again. Thanks for posting this!
Love,
Maria

Interesting!
You know what, one day as we were working in the field as a family,I felt like not working. My brother and sisters started laughing at me that am lazy, then my dad told them, she is not lazy but she does not just want to do it.
I am really encouraged by your word, its true sometimes we feel like not moving but that should not stop us, we really need to move on.
With Love,
Dando
Thanks for reading
Hi Dando,
I am glad you feel encouraged. It is always good to get going and many times the encouragement is what we really need.
Glad to help,

Thhis is about Olutosin
Hi Friend!
I love this, I have chocolate colour teeth and I do not like talking at all, but lately I discover that when I go out to speak abotu child sexual abuse, no one really want to see my face but the issue, severally during live program on TV when I expect people to phone in and ask why I have this bad teeth, to either make jest of me they will ask about our address to bring in an abused child, oh I realise that what is in us is what the world is interested in not the structure.
Limping or not as long as the brain is functioning and we are breathing please let us continue to touch lives.
Love you for writing about me.

Thank you for this wisdom
Jackie, what an inspiring analogy. I think there are times when we all feel as if we are limping along, and over time, begin to lose all motivation. But just as Shiku Steve and Consolata mentioned in the Sole Sistas group, we just need to take baby steps to move back towards our goals and before we know it, we'll be sprinting ahead. Thank you for reminding us that you don't lose sight of your dreams just because yo are limping right now.
I was missing you
Dear Janice,
After I wrote this I said to myself 'Gee, I should apply this to my walking', and I decided to do that by giving walking a more realistic chance. So I will be getting some new walking shoes today to walk better.
Many times what we write can not only encourage others, but ourselves too. Taking the next step is kind of hard but it is worth it. Hey, will you walk with me?
Let's do this together and cheer each other at the same time, what say you dear friend? Will you just stir at my struggle or become part of the action? hehehehe
Love you lots,
Jackie

I know, right?
Jackie,
It's so timely that you wrote about this. I've been feeling extremely "out of it", like I don't wanna do anything cos something seems so wrong and I just stay in my room, not wanting to talk to anyone or go out. It's not like I am being quiet in a meditative way. And I get a little depressed. I feel so lonely. It's just one of those days that you feel a little low and unable to move not because it's true but because of our system of beliefs. Anyway, like what the bible says, "this too, shall pass." And it does.
Thank you for the thought.

katea
Poverty is man-made that we can undo.
Hi Katea
The whole intention of this post is to make you feel the warmth of being accepted when you are whole AND when you are in pieces, all the same. Please stop by a lot, read this many times every now and then. I will do the same. Let's remind ourselves that we are THE players of the game and there is no replacement for us, so we better get our behinds to the field!
Love you lots,
Jackie

Being on the field AND part of the team
Katea, I understand how you are feeling as we all go through periods of doubt, self-doubt and lack motivation. As Jackie says, it helps to remember that we must still be in the game to "win" but I also suggest that you remind yourself, during that time, that you are a member of many incredible teams (be they family, PulseWire, etc...) and sometimes you need to reach out to your team-mates for a word of encouragement. If you are feeling down, stop by PulseWire and say hi. Our hands will reach out to you in love and friendship, as we hold you in our light. Sending you a big hug, with love,
Janice
thank you
Dear Janice,
I know, I can always talk to any of you here on Pulse Wire. I'm grateful and happy that I have that kind of support.
Three days ago, I was in a bookstore and got a copy of the book called, "Walking the Sacred Path." By Dr. Lauren Artress. He quoted Nietzsche who said, "You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star." I feel I'm coming out of chaos and just waiting to give birth to a dancing star.
I just posted my latest journal which explains why I was a bit distraught. But I know it's just a phase. I'm back anyway. :)
thank you!!!
