Introducing myself and my journal: TAMMACHAT Natural Textiles
About Me:
TAMMACHAT Natural Textiles brings fairly traded, handwoven, naturally dyed textiles to Canada and beyond from rural women artisans in rural Thailand and Laos. Conscious consumers are thrilled with the natural fibres -- silk, cotton, hemp and bamboo -- of these eco-fashions for body and home. And we are honoured to be working with pioneers in Thailand's development community who have spent decades helping women artisans celebrate and sustain their weaving traditions, families and communities. Visit http://www.tammachat.com -- check out our Artisans and Travel Blog pages for stories behind these textiles and drop by our Online Shop to buy them.

Welcome
Your business and the philosophy of PulseWire are a great fit. By networking with other like minded members, I'm imagining TAMMACHAT becoming an even more vital business for the rural women artisans in Thailand and Laos. I was in Vietnam and Thailand a few years ago and marveled at the silk threads in golds, umber, crimson woven intricately. The talent and skill is inspiring and wonderful to bring those goods across the globe.

Glad to be part of PulseWire
Thanks for the welcome, Laura. I'll check out these other members. I've already heard from one member. There are a lot of us who are working to connect women around the world in a variety of ways. You're right; the more successful we are, the more we can support these rural women's weaving groups by increasing our orders. What we offer them is interest in their traditions, as well as opening markets in North America (and elsewhere when online), both of which are vital to the continuation of these traditions.
In fair trade,
Ellen
