Purpose of the "Classroom"

Greetings!

I've had a few questions about the purpose of this group versus your journals. Thank you for seeking clarification.

The purpose of this group is to :
~Receive updates and information from World Pulse as well as each other about the program
~Provide you with your monthly learning material and assignments
-Provide space to pitch stories ideas and post first drafts of your assignments for peer feedback
~Provide a space for collaboration and to exchange ideas and information

Your journal is the keeper of your stories, your ideas, your vision. It is your public face to the community. Ideally you will continue to post your journal entries there. However, if you want us to know that you posted in your journal, you can always post a link to your journal here. By doing this, your journal entry shows up in Voices Rising AND the entire community can connect with you, but we get a notification that you've written.

To state another way:

What do you post in this group?
-Your story ideas (once the program starts)
-The first draft of your assignment
-Links to your journal entries
-Questions, feedback, comments about the program
-Questions/ideas/conversations you want to have with your Correspondents group only

What do I post in my journal?
-Anything you want to write about!
-The final draft of your assignment, which will be evaluated by the International Panel of judges.

I hope this clears up any confusion!

Jennifer
