Welcome

We are thrilled to have you as a member of PulseWire. If there is anything I can help you with or if you have any particular interests, please let me know and I will try to steer you in the right direction. Technology has provided us with the means to broadcast the unheard voices around the world and now, we can all share ideas, dreams and stories. Please do not hesitate to contact me (hit "reply" at the end of this comment) should you wish to explore ways to engage your students with our online community.

We have amazing groups and members on PulseWire. You might be interested in mamaAfrica's Rafiki club, where she is looking for penpals to write to women in rural Kenya to overcome illiteracy (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups/6627). She is moving mountains on her own and is such an inspiration. She can be found at: http://www.worldpulse.com/user/1511.

If you are interested in innovative ways to engage and educate your students, Dana Gold is the Program Director for Infinite Family, and runs a unique online mentoring program that connects mentors with South African orphans and children struggling with poverty, disease and a lack of caring adults in their lives.

Take a moment to browse through our group directory (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions.

Again, welcome and I know that you will find PulseWire to be engaging, inspiring and thought-provoking.

Welcome to PulseWire!

Hi Joan,

We welcome you with open arms to the PulseWire community, a space where I think you will find friendship, encouragement, engagement and empowerment. Especially if you take advantage of all the resources available here. The best way to communicate and share your voice is to write in your journal, read the journals of fellow members in Voices Rising and offer comments, or join a group and share in the dialogue by contributing to the group journal. If you don't find a group that suits your interests and needs, please feel free to create your own and invite other members with similar interests.

Based on your profile, the following groups may be of interest to you. Some could use a jump start if you would like to write a group journal entry to engage other members in a current dialogue.

Welcome

Joan,

So glad that you found PulseWire, a powerful online community. Your interests and passions fit right into what PulseWire is all about. You'll discover many kindred spirits here. What type of mentoring do you do or are your interested in?
I wonder if you might start a group centered around mentoring girls.

You might want to connect with these members who are involved in mentoring girls.
