Burma or Myanmar?
In 1989 the military junta renamed Burma "Myanmar." Many Burmese do not recognize the authority of an illegitimate dictatorship to rename their country. Like many, we use the name "Burma" to show our support for those fighting for Burma's freedom.

Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice addresses global acquiescence to impunity, gender violence, and exclusion that continues to obstruct peacebuilding and deny human security.
