DRC Multimedia

This video series was produced for World Pulse's Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign by Congolese women journalists of UhakiNews, a training project by the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) and the Voices of Africa Media Foundation. The videos spotlight local grassroots women leaders working to end gender-based violence in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

UhakiNews is a news website in French and Swahili for Congolese women journalists trained by IWPR in North and South Kivu. Through this portal, they present multimedia reports on justice and human rights in Eastern DRC. The articles, videos, and radio programs are the result of continuing efforts to produce quality reporting despite the difficult conditions under which women journalists in DRC work.
