Join Nobel Laureates in Ending Gender Violence in Conflict

A new Nobel Women’s Initiative campaign calls attention to the cries of women that get lost in the noise of warfare. In times of conflict, women are often deliberately silenced through targeted violence against them. Any war, no matter the cause, can become a war against women—a war that affects women, girls, men, boys, and the entire fabric of society.

The Nobel Women’s Initiative, an organization led by six Nobel Peace Prize laureates, recognizes that efforts against rape and gender violence in conflict are essential to the pursuit of peace. They are challenging the international community to do a better job of protecting women and supporting their voices during conflict, holding perpetrators accountable to justice, and creating a path to healing after the trauma of war.

They are calling on organizations and individuals to stand with them and join the movement to end rape and gender violence in conflict.
