Take ACTION on International Women’s Day!

This International Women’s Day, take our challenge to think bigger than one day. Envision with us a world where women walk the halls of power in equal numbers as men; where every girl has the chance for an education and the permission to dream; where every woman is free from violence, where her strength and independence are celebrated; and where the voices and recommendations of women drive global decision-making. Now, hold that image in your mind, and join us in taking a step forward.

The theme for International Women’s Day this year is A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women. In her latest column, our founder Jensine Larsen celebrates the incredible chorus of World Pulse voices around the world that have risen up to offer grassroots solutions and urgent pleas for action during our Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign. They have rejected the script that women are often handed that tells them they are victims. They have claimed their roles as leaders.

Read Jensine’s story here.

We believe that shifting power into the hands of women leaders on the ground and building women’s agency over the long haul are the keys to change. It’s an exciting time at World Pulse right now. At the end of the month we will launch our next digital action campaign, Girl’s Access to Education and Its Impact: Jobs, Growth and the Economy. We have just opened the application process for the 2013 class of the Voices of Our Future training program. Through digital action campaigns and our citizen journalism and digital empowerment training program we are nurturing a movement. And we invite you to join us.

How you can take ACTION:
  • Are you a grassroots women leader at the heartbeat of change in your community? Do you have an unheard perspective that begs to be aired? Apply for our training program.
  • Does the idea of “listening for change” appeal to you? Become a volunteer Listener to connect with women around the world and experience how one-on-one encouragement can strengthen a woman’s voice and confidence.
  • If you don’t have time to participate or volunteer, share these opportunities with your friends and networks. Become a connector, and help build a global movement!
  • Donate now and support us in harnessing the power of digital media to accelerate women's impact for the world.
Ready? Set. Go!
