Kenyan AIDS Activist Speaks about World Pulse in BBC Interview
Leah Okeyo is a living testament to the power of the internet. In a recent BBC interview, Leah recounts how internet access, and specifically the connections she has made on PulseWire, have empowered her as a woman living with AIDS in a rural Kenyan village.
Leah has risen to become a powerful leader within the World Pulse community. One of the very first members to join PulseWire, Leah immediately saw the potential of this online community to support her work caring for women with HIV. Leah has overcome significant technological barriers to share her story online as a World Pulse correspondent. Through PulseWire, she has made lasting connections with leaders and activists from around the world.
In this BBC interview she recounts how she was enabled, through World Pulse, to attend the 2008 International AIDS conference in Mexico City—and how this experience changed her life. Leah continues to use PulseWire as a platform to empower and inspire others.
