This year we are bringing World Pulse LIVE voices to more stages and conferences year round! As we eagerly count down days to our big 10-year anniversary event in our birth city of Portland, Oregon, World Pulse is on the move and making waves at the world’s most forward-thinking and solutions-oriented summits and conferences. You can find World Pulse community leaders advocating for women-powered new media technology, partnering on a women’s climate action agenda, speaking their truths, and sharing their visions for combating some of the world’s greatest challenges.
Sept 20-23: International Women’s Earth and Climate Summit | NYC
This environmental summit will bring together 100 global women leaders—including Jane Goodall, Vandana Shiva, and Congolese World Pulse leader Neema Namadamu. Neema will speak on Sept 21st at 11:15am ET on a panel spotlighting the voices from the world’s forests. Although this is an invitation only event, women around the world are encouraged to participate. Women from the Maman Shujaa media center are hosting a “Vision Hub” back home in the Democratic Republic of Congo. You too can join the dialogue from wherever you are via live stream or vision hub.
Sept 22-24: Social Good Summit | NYC
At this dynamic conference, big ideas meet new media to create innovative solutions to the world’s greatest challenges. Jensine Larsen, World Pulse Founder and CEO, and Neema Namadamu will speak at 6pm EST Sept 22nd in a “duet” on the digital revolution powered by women worldwide. Listen to the discussion via live stream to hear insights on employing new media technology to forever break women’s silence.
Sept 23-25: Clinton Global Initiative | NYC
The Clinton Global Initiative aims to turn ideas into action. Its annual meeting brings together global leaders in a dialogue around the world’s most pressing problems and its most ground-breaking and inventive solutions. World Pulse leaders have raised their voices in these discussions contributing powerful, community-focused and women-led initiatives to the mix. This year Jensine Larsen will join Chi Yvonne Leina, Cameroonian World Pulse Correspondent and advocate against the practice of breast ironing, in a technology and storytelling session with Shelly Esque, president of the Intel Foundation.
Oct 3: Open Square Summit | Washington, D.C.
Futures without Violence will host the first Open Square Summit with partners including Google and Facebook. The summit, Communications for Change, will explore how communication strategies and new technologies can create the lasting change needed to bring an end to gender-based violence globally. Jensine Larsen and Chi Yvonne Leina will speak about women-powered digital media and its ability to inspire global communities to take action against gender-based violence.
